Residents across Grindon, Hastings Hill and Pennywell are being encouraged to have their say about plans for a new Greggs and drive-through coffee shop next to KFC and ALDI on the former Dewhirst site.

The retail park development had meant to house a new Marston's pub, but the plans were dropped. Developers are now asking for permission from Sunderland Council to build a new Greggs and a drive-through coffee shop.

Lib Dem campaigner for Grindon & Hastings Hill Paul Edgeworth said: "If you live locally please make sure you have your say on the planning application. Your local Lib Dem FOCUS Team will be making sure local people's voices are heard. I will be pushing for issues like litter and increased traffic on the Hastings Hill roundabout taken into consideration."

To see full details of the application, to add a comment or objection you can go to www.sunderland.gov.uk/planning-applications and search for application reference '20/01035/FUL'.
