Councillor Paul Gibson

Paul Gibson is an accountant who spent decades teaching at secondary schools in the city before becoming a councillor. Paul was elected as a councillor for Doxford Ward in May 2021 and has a proud record of standing up for local people. Paul has supported owners of leasehold properties in the area and fought for a fair deal for them, and is campaigning to stop the dumping of raw sewage into the River Wear and on our coastline.

Councillor Heather Fagan

Heather Fagan grew up in Sunderland and lives locally in the Thristley Wood estate with her husband and their dog. She was elected as as the area's first ever Lib Dem councillor in 2019. Since then Heather has earned a reputation as a councillor who gets things done for local people. Heather has helped hundreds of people with local issues and problems, and is someone who fights to improve the area and the city. Heather is Deputy Leader of the opposition Liberal Democrats Group on Sunderland City Council, fighting for a fair deal for local people.
